Voice Competition
Category A
(born in 2007 and younger)
max. performance time: 6 min.
- one Lied or Antique Aria by a composer from the 16th to 18th centuries
- a piece of the contestant’s choice
Category B
(born 2005 and 2006)
max. performance time: 9 min.
- one Lied or Antique Aria by a composer from the 16th to 18th centuries
- a piece from the Classical period
- a piece of the contestant’s choice
Category C
(born 2003 and 2004)
max. performance time: 20 min.
- a piece from the Classical period
- one Lied by a composer of the 19th Century
- one Opera Aria of the contestant’s choice
- a piece of the contestant’s choice
Category D
(born 2000 - 2002)
max. performance time: 30 min.
The competition will be divided into two rounds:
1) Preliminary round:
- a piece from the Classical period
- one Lied or Antique Aria by a composer from the 17th – 18th centuries
- one Lied by a composer from the 19th century
2) Final round:
- one Lied by a composer from the 20th or 21st century
- one Aria of the contestant’s choice from an Oratorio, Mass or Cantata
- one Opera Aria of the contestant’s choice.
Category E
(born 1994 - 1999)
max. performance time: 45 min.
The competition will be divided into two rounds:
1)Preliminary round:
- one Lied or Antique Aria by a composer from the 17th – 18th centuries (pre-Classical period)
- one Aria of the contestant’s choice from an Oratorio, Mass or Cantata
- one Opera Aria of the contestant’s choice.
2)Final round:
- one Lied by a composer from the 18th or 19th century
- one Lied by a composer from the 20th or 21st century
- one Opera or Operetta Aria of the contestant’s choice
- a piece of the contestant’s choice
N.B.: The Programme should be performed from memory.
